The iconic Watergate Hotel is a five star hotel in Washington, DC. The work performed on this project was a complete gut and renovation. The hotel is 250,000 square feet and has 360 guest rooms. The renovation included new hotel rooms and suites, a luxurious lobby including custom metal artwork and millwork assemblies, a high-end restaurant, multiple ball rooms and meeting spaces, and a spa. Concrete/structural restoration was completed throughout the hotel and the main ballroom roof was raised five feet. Additional work included replacement of all windows and glazing systems, new landscaping and hardscapes, the addition of a large patio at the restaurant, and new glass port- cochere assembly.
PWC also acted as general contractor for a $1M project involving the removal of the existing rooftop membrane down to bare concrete, repairing cracks, and installing new waterproofing and traffic coatings across the main roof deck, ancillary structures, and penthouse patios. Additional work included CMU wall removal and restoration, concrete resurfacing and repairs, and rebar replacement with epoxy coating on the fifteen-story historical building.
