The scope of this project consisted of waterproofing the membrane and the pebble basin of the DuPont Circle fountain to restore it back to its beautiful, functioning state. The masonry decorative pebble stones were removed and disposed of in accordance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulation, and replaced with new pebbles that matched the size, color, and texture of the original. A new waterproofing membrane was installed, and then the decorative pebble basin was laid with new mortar, sealing it and ensuring consistency across the entire fountain. The pattern of the inlay pebble stones and the color and texture of the mortar matched the original design. Additionally, other surrounding surfaces, plantings, sidewalk, marble fountain statue, marble fountain ring, Belgian block pavers, concrete steps and landings, and grass were not included in this treatment but were protected from the work of this project.
